At Sunrise Toyota North, our goal is to provide our customers in Middle Island, Port Jeff, Smithtown, and surrounding areas with a wide selection of high-quality used Toyota SUVs, cars, and trucks for sale to choose from. Our extensive used Toyota variety includes some of the most popular Toyota models, such as the used Toyota Camry and used Toyota RAV4, but we understand that with any vehicle purchase comes the responsibility of vehicle maintenance.

We are pleased to offer our customers an excellent Service Center ready to assist you in vehicle maintenance for years to come, but we want our customers to feel confident in their ability to maintain their vehicles as well. Below is a list of a few important components you should always remember when servicing your used Toyota!

Replace Your Brake Pads

One thing you definitely do not want to forget to service is your brake pads. Without functioning brake pads, your entire braking system could fail and possibly result in a vehicle crash, so not only is servicing brake pads vital to your vehicle’s health but keeps you and your passengers safe as well.

Brake pads operate by adding pressure to the rotors which create the friction needed to help slow down or stop your vehicle. Over time, brake pads can get worn thin and rub together and create a high-pitched noise, which is usually a sign it’s time to get them repaired. However, our certified technicians advise you to service your brake pads long before you hear them screeching!

Change Your Oil

Oil changes are arguably one of the most important factors in keeping your vehicle healthy and running for years to come. The oil you put in your vehicle is what keeps your engine lubricated, and if you have low oil, dirty oil, or no oil, your engine can get seriously damaged. Vehicle oil is usually either Synthetic or Nonsynthetic, depending on the make and model of your vehicle, and it’s important you know which type of oil your used Toyota needs and inspect it often. You can find your oil type listed on the oil cap under the hood or in the owner’s manual of your vehicle.

Rotate Your Tires

Lastly, we have tire rotations. Keeping up with your tires is also important to both the vehicle and passenger health because tire wear and tear, too much air, or not enough air in your tires can cause a blowout, which could also result in a vehicle crash. Tire rotations help to even out the wear and tear on your tires, which in turn makes them last longer. Tire rotations on your used Toyota SUV, car, or truck are recommended every 6 months or 7,000 miles.
